Transport plays a vital role in all our lives. Safe, reliable and affordable ways to get around are essential to the success and wellbeing of Shropshire’s communities.

The Shropshire Local Transport Plan is a long-term strategy for transport and highways across the county. We need a transport system that connects people to opportunities, supports economic growth, improves health and wellbeing, reduces carbon emissions and helps protect the environment that makes Shropshire such a special place to live, work and visit. The draft plan sets out the vision, objectives and priorities that will guide future transport policies, investment and decision-making between 2027 and 2037.
